About The Position

WSP has immediate openings for on-call Field Archaeologist Technicians to support multiple surveys planned in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. This is an as-needed, temporary hourly position. Hourly rates are described as industry competitive and depend on North American CRM experience and regional archaeological experience. Candidates local to Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana are ideal because of work locations and schedules, though all qualified applicants will be considered. WSP also has ongoing Phase I, II, and III work in other states, with additional work upcoming. The position assists with Phase I Intensive Cultural Resources Surveys. Field tasks include pedestrian surveys; excavating and recording shovel tests; recovering and identifying archaeological artifacts and other materials; and recording archaeological data on field forms, including artifact types and counts, Munsell soil color, soil textures, and other relevant information. The technician works as part of a team and is expected to make responsible, ethical decisions about company funds, resources, and conduct and follow WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. The role requires the ability to work in all weather conditions, travel to project sites, and work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
