Requirements

  • A strong dedication to maintaining a safe environment -both physically and mentally -for yourself, your colleagues, and customers
  • 1+ years of fiber splicing and 1+ years of installing, repairing, and disconnecting communication services
  • Valid Class D Driver's License with a driver rating above "unacceptable"
  • Understanding of telecommunications network structures, construction maps, and fiber optic theory
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and proficient computer operation
  • Dependable, motivated, accurate, and able to work calmly and independently or with a multi-location team

Nice To Haves

  • 2 year degree in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide complete, neat, and accurate fiber optic cable splicing and performance testing.
  • Prepare and splice all modes of fiber.
  • Conduct performance testing.
  • Assist the engineering department with design and material coordination.
  • Locate cables.
  • Assist with hot cuts.
  • Update plant records.
  • Coordinate contract job schedules directly with customers.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all company safety standards and driving protocols.
