About The Position

Network Connex is hiring for a fiber optic cable installation and splicing role. The position involves assembling, installing, testing, splicing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber optic cables, as well as reading technical diagrams, calibrating equipment, and maintaining work records. Production splicing is required. The role requires travel, overnight work, and being on call.

Requirements

• Experience splicing and terminating single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables.
• Knowledge of fusion splicing and OTDR testing.
• Ability to interpret and analyze test results.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Understanding of fiber optic systems and components.
• Proficiency in splicing and related operations.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Ability to work overnight and be on call.
• Pass a background check and drug screening after accepting an offer.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install fiber optic cables.
• Test fiber optic cables to ensure proper performance.
• Splice fiber optic cables using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cables.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine installation requirements.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment as needed.
• Maintain records of work performed.
• Perform production splicing.
