This part-time role focuses on providing technical field support and training for Corning Optical Communications products within specific territories.

Requirements

Technical degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Fiber Optics
Possess a driver’s license and be insurable.
Work independently with little or no supervision.
Able and willing to travel 50% of the time.
Interface and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Knowledge of Corning Optical Communications products

Responsibilities

Provide after the sale training and field support of Corning Optical Communications fiber optic cable and hardware installations (Inside Plant and Outside Plant).
Actively pursue competitive information and report back to Sales.
Support field trials and product evaluations for fiber optic cable and hardware installations.
Support Sales demonstrations/presentations and trade shows.
Support Data Center and fiber to the home (FTTH) installations.
Perform training, troubleshooting and field support for both single and ribbon fiber splicing.
Teach Tier 1 (light source and power meter) and Tier 2 (OTDR) fiber optic cable field testing applications.
Instruct fiber optic installation classes up to 25 students as a qualified instructor or a technical assist role.
