This role is primarily focused on the operation of fiber winders and the processing of optical fiber.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience with strong math/science aptitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and disciplined, accurate work habits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database systems.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of manufacturing/production operations and scheduling requirements.
- Ability to multitask managing multiple work streams across multiple process steps
- Familiarity with Performance Excellence methods and tools
- Familiarity or previous experience with optical fibers and/or processes.
- Strong Mechanical/Troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Processing Specialty Optical Fiber products and supporting some R&D projects
- Prioritize day-to-day tasks based on inventory, scheduling and/or customer priorities
- Work cooperatively across multiple functions and process areas
- Interface with Ops and Quality resources in production of Specialty optical fiber
- Database entry to track ware
- Shipment preparation including labeling, packing, and shipping reels.
