About The Position

Conexon is a telecommunications company that partners with Rural Electric Cooperatives to design and deploy fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. The Fiber Construction QC Inspector performs onsite quality-control inspections of FTTH construction in Brookhaven, Mississippi, and the surrounding area. The role requires experience across FTTH network construction and familiarity with telecommunications or broadband projects. Some travel is required. The inspector communicates with clients, cooperative members, and coworkers and supports Conexon’s mission of bringing high-speed internet and phone services to rural communities.

Requirements

• Experience in all facets of constructing an FTTH network.
• Experience with FTTX, FTTH, FTTP, fiber, telecommunications, or broadband projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating with clients, cooperative members, and coworkers.
• Organizational skills.
• General computer skills.
• Ability to walk long distances over varying terrain, including crossing ditches and fences.
• Ability to walk up and down hills.
• Ability to get in and out of a vehicle multiple times a day.

Responsibilities

• Complete ride-out edits.
• Understand FTTH plant design.
• Perform quality-control inspections and ensure contractor compliance.
• Reconcile close-out packages.
• Manage cost control for the client and Conexon.
• Apply an understanding of NESC standards.
• Verify production and reconcile invoices with production.
• Assist in promoting and selling Conexon services.
• Participate in weekly client conference calls.
• Evaluate and advise on FTTH construction techniques.
• Provide weekly status reports.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
