About The Position

Conexon is a telecommunications company that partners with Rural Electric Cooperatives to design and deploy fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. The Fiber Construction QC Inspector performs onsite quality control inspections of FTTH construction and supports telecommunications construction projects. The role is based in McComb, Mississippi, and the surrounding area, with some travel required. It reports to the Regional Construction Project Manager and is classified as non-exempt.

Requirements

• Experience in all facets of constructing an FTTH network.
• Experience in FTTX, FTTH, FTTP, fiber, telecommunications, or broadband projects.
• Organization skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for communicating with clients, cooperative members, and coworkers.
• General computer skills.
• Ability to walk long distances over varying terrain, including crossing ditches and fences.
• Ability to walk up and down hills.
• Ability to get in and out of a vehicle multiple times a day.

Responsibilities

• Complete ride-out edits.
• Understand FTTH plant design.
• Perform quality control inspections and ensure contractor compliance.
• Reconcile closeout packages.
• Control costs for the client and Conexon.
• Apply an understanding of NESC standards.
• Verify production and reconcile invoices with production.
• Assist in promoting and selling Conexon services.
• Participate in weekly client conference calls.
• Evaluate and advise on FTTH construction techniques.
• Provide weekly status reports.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
