About The Position

We are hiring for entry level and above technicians who can be a part of the construction phase of Data Centers. You will assist the higher level techs and the team leads in building out the infrastructure to include: pulling cable, pulling fiber, learning color codes, learning how to punch down and terminate fiber, installing cable trays and pathways, and build server racks. This is a career changing role for someone. With this experience you can also become a Data Center technician. This is an ongoing construction site. Over 2.5 million square feet of data center space. This is a huge ongoing construction site. There are a ton of different trades on site. We are looking for technicians who are excited about installing, running, terminating, fiber optic and copper cable for a large on-going initiative supporting one of the nation’s largest technology companies in the US.

Requirements

Fiber experience (Installing cable trays, pulling cable/fiber, punch down, termination)
Experience working with hand tools
Construction experience following blueprints, building, etc.
Punctual and team player
Able to flexible on hours
Must be comfortable with heights.
Must show up on time. If late they will send you home. Zero tolerance.
Steel toe Boots

Basic hand tools is a plus

Responsibilities

Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method.
Route cable through data center.
Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack and label cables.
Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze.
Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.
Terminate low-voltage devices.
Follow prints.
Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Utilize hand and power tools to assemble and mount trays, server racks/closets, and also pulling fiberoptic cable from point a to point b.
Build out server rows (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
