This role ensures all associates comprehend and execute safe work practices by performing regular safety observations and having regular safety discussions. The supervisor identifies and resolves safety issues on the floor, addresses escalated safety concerns, and determines the daily workload for the department. They monitor inventory flow, expedite priority product, and research/resolve pick and ship errors. Additionally, this role involves training associates on equipment, completing incident reports, identifying process improvements, and monitoring staffing needs. The supervisor conducts shift briefings, communicates business objectives, monitors productivity, approves off-standard hours, sets goals, provides feedback, and offers developmental opportunities. They also participate in the hiring process, train new hires, resolve associate conflicts, sponsor change initiatives, respond to incidents, and collaborate with other operational shifts for consistency.
