About The Position

Under little or no direct supervision, the Fetal Nurse Coordinator works collaboratively with the Medical Director/Executive Director of Cook Children's and Texas Health Resource (THR) teams to foster obstetric referral relationships with physicians, genetic counselors, nurse midwives, and payers locally, regionally, nationally and internationally for the Cook Children's Fetal Program. Responsibilities include establishing systems/processes through the analysis, interpretation or deduction process from varying facts or circumstances to developed individual care plans for the referrers about their medical conditions and recovery made recommendations concerning alternate forms of treatment; facilitating communication between the members of the fetal team and referrers/institutions and facilitating continuing education programs. The Fetal Nurse Coordinator is responsible for representing the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment (CFDT) to maternal fetal medicine and obstetric physicians through relationship building and educational marketing to increase utilization of CFDT services. The Fetal Nurse Coordinator for CFDT Outreach has subject matter expertise in areas of referral needs and provides support to the CFDT in enhancing these relationships. This position supports the strategic objectives of the CFDT and Cook Children's Health Care System.

Requirements

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing or college.
  • Current RN license to practice in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities
