About The Position

This role involves assisting in the day-to-day operations of a warehouse distribution complex, focusing on meeting customer needs efficiently and safely. The position requires operating mobile equipment and mechanical systems, transferring bulk commodities like fertilizer from inbound vehicles (river barge, railcar, truck) to storage and then to outbound vehicles for customer delivery. Responsibilities also include performing and documenting preventative maintenance on equipment and facility grounds, adhering to safety procedures, and learning administrative tasks related to product processing, storage, and shipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Generally three years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather (hot, cold, wet), noisy conditions, and exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
  • Ability to work at varying heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift 71-100 lbs.
  • Willingness to work extended hours.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of a warehouse distribution complex.
  • Operate mobile equipment and mechanical operating systems.
  • Transfer bulk commodities (fertilizer in liquid or dry form) from inbound vehicles to storage and then to outbound vehicles.
  • Inspect, perform, and document general preventative equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in the repair of mobile equipment and mechanical operating systems.
  • Participate in the maintenance of facility grounds.
  • Follow company safety and operating procedures.
  • Work effectively with and communicate with fellow employees.
  • Learn administrative activities associated with facility operations, including processing receipts, storage, and shipment of product.
  • Ensure customers are served professionally by providing timely, responsive, and adaptive customer service.
  • Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OHSA and DOT policies and procedures.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as experience is gained.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
