About The Position

Argus Analytics, part of Argus Media Group, is seeking a passionate and driven Fertilizer Analyst to join their global Fertilizer Analytics Team in Houston. This role will focus on the nitrogen fertilizer services across North America, contributing to thought leadership, client relationship building, and reinforcing Argus's market reputation. The successful candidate will work with a team of industry experts and recent graduates, under the guidance of global nitrogen experts, to produce industry-leading reports, forecasts, and presentations on key nitrogen commodities and the evolving clean ammonia sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career analyst with a background in economics, statistics, chemical engineering, agriculture, or energy to build a career in commodity analysis and contribute to the development of Argus's Analytics services.

Requirements

  • Graduate / Master’s degree from a top-tier university.
  • Highly numerate with experience analyzing comprehensive datasets quickly and meticulously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus.
  • Intellectually curious with demonstrated structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to deadlines and meet targets.
  • Flexible, highly motivated, and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus’ Analytics Services.

Nice To Haves

  • Awareness of other statistical and programming languages such as R is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead components of the Nitrogen Team’s client deliverables, including written reports, commodity forecasts, thought leadership pieces, and conference presentations, under manager guidance.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Fertilizer Team’s core models for forecasting supply, demand, capacity, imports, exports, price, production costs, and margin analysis.
  • Collaborate with the global team of analysts to ensure analysis accurately reflects complex and globally connected nitrogen value chains.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of subscription reports in terms of analytical rigor, breadth, depth of detail, and quality of delivery.
  • Engage with the wider Analytics business to ensure major trends in adjacent commodity markets are reflected in nitrogen products.
  • Support the development and commercialization of new data-driven products.
