About The Position

Fellowship programs require a lead administrative person, frequently referred to as a program coordinator. The Fellowship Specialist, or Fellowship Program Coordinator, will frequently manage the day-to-day operations of the program and serve as an important liaison and facilitator between the learners, faculty, and other staff members, and the ACGME. Individuals serving in this role are recognized as program coordinators by the ACGME. The Program Coordinators will have additional responsibilities, beyond those directly related to program administration, including, but not limited to, departmental administrative responsibilities, medical school clerkships, planning lectures that are not solely intended for the accredited program, and mandatory reporting for entities other than the ACGME.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree – required
3+ years practical experience working in a similar position.
Excellent computer skills required, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Must do 25 wpm on keyboard.

Responsibilities

Conducts and coordinates conference calls, and checks/reviews the Fellows’ work and progress on activities.
Supports the Fellowship Director in completing all tasks as it relates to the fellowship program.
Maintains the program and ensures compliance with the NRMP, ACGME, ABOG and ERAS systems.
Serves as a liaison between the fellow, program director and local hospitals.
Develops in-depth knowledge of the ACGME and Program Requirements, including policies and procedures.
Assists the program director in meeting accreditation requirements, educational programming, and support of fellows.
