About The Position

The Feedmill Operator is responsible for maintaining the running operation of the feed mill. This includes receiving ingredients, placing ingredient orders, batching feed, and operating the pellet mill. The role also involves documenting all necessary information regarding feed mill processes and operations, unloading ingredients, and cleaning the mills and facility as needed. Operators may be required to clean out specific processes when plugged, use technology to create feed, and operate a locomotive to unload and move rail cars and trucks. Additional tasks include pouring micros into bins, changing screens in hammer mills, and assisting with other assigned duties.

Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age.
Ability to read and write legibly.
Basic math functions and skills.
Sound work ethic, honesty, and good moral character.
Maintains a clean, uncluttered, safe work area.
Maintains a positive attitude and interpersonal interactions.
Maintains consistent and regular attendance.
Prompt, punctual, and efficient with time.

Responsibilities

Maintain the running operation of the feed mill.
Receive ingredients for the mill.
Place ingredient orders.
Batch the feed.
Run the pellet mill.
Document all needed information regarding the feed mill processes and operation.
Unload ingredients upon arrival.
Clean the mills and facility as needed.
Responsible for cleaning out certain processes when plugged.
Use technology to create the feed.
Operate a locomotive, unload, and move rail cars and trucks.
Pour micros into bins and change screens in the hammer mills.
Assist with all other duties, as assigned.
