About The Position

The Driver will drive the feed truck to and from farms to deliver feed. The role may also involve picking up feed. Daily pre-trip inspections are required. This position requires the ability to work in hot and cold environments and inclement weather. Employees must maintain current licenses and DOT physical documents and comply with random drug testing as required by DOT. Drivers must adhere to seat belt and safety rules. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must hold a valid CDL-A (Commercial Driver’s License – Class A).
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have 2 years of driving experience.
Must bring a MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) from the license branch.
Must pass a driving test.
Must keep license and DOT physical documents current.
Must comply with random drug testing as required by DOT.
Must comply with seat belt and safety rules.

Responsibilities

Drive the feed truck to and from farms to deliver feed.
Pick up feed as required.
Perform pre-trip inspections daily.
Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and check that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones, to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
Complete all required paperwork correctly and completely.
Wear a safety harness when loading the truck at a height of approximately 14 feet.
Willing to cross-train in other departments.
