About The Position

Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI) is seeking a dedicated Feed Operations Manager to join their expanding team. This role requires a leader with the ability to manage multiple activities and ensure plan achievement for optimum efficiency and maximum profits within the Feed Division. The ideal candidate will have a positive and outgoing attitude, a commitment to safety, and a desire to contribute to CPI's mission of 'Making Local Matter' by supporting local farmers and communities. The Feed Operations Manager will be responsible for preparing the division's business and strategic plans, communicating policies, and overseeing the procurement and pricing of feed products. They will also focus on developing new markets, increasing market share, and maintaining a competitive position. Risk management according to CPI's Feed Risk Management policy is crucial, along with providing detailed reports to the VP of Energy and the board. This position involves managing feed division inventory, providing leadership and mentoring to division managers, building consensus on company objectives, and fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while adhering to the reporting structure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or agricultural related field.
  • Seven or more years of progressively responsible leadership roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Time management, planning, organization and decision-making skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking abilities.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • Proficient knowledge of business computer skills (Microsoft Office, accounting and feed software).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations.
  • Excellent business acumen abilities.
  • Supervisory experience of teams is required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Feed Division business plan.
  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the division.
  • Communicate feed division policies.
  • Be responsible for the procurement and pricing of feed products and services.
  • Develop new markets and increase market share.
  • Maintain a competitive position in the industry.
  • Be responsible for risk management of the feed division adhering to CPI’s Feed Risk Management policy.
  • Provide a detailed DPR to the VP of Energy and the board.
  • Be responsible for the feed division inventory.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to managers of all functions within the division.
  • Build consensus with functional and cross-functional team members on company objectives to align resources for maximum efficiency.
  • Drive a culture of respect, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Understand and follow the reporting structure for all of CPI’s divisions.
