About The Position

Furst-McNess Company is looking to add a full-time Feed Formulations Coordinator at our headquarters office in Rockford, IL. The Formulations Coordinator is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing product formulations, labels, and system data to support manufacturing and sales operations. This role works cross-functionally with product management, nutrition, quality, and operations teams to ensure accurate formulation, regulatory compliance, and efficient product setup. The position also supports internal teams and customers with technical product information and helps maintain the integrity of formulation and ERP systems.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in formulation, nutrition, feed, or related industry preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems and formulation software
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills related to formulation and product development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to travel, either by car or by commercial plane, including some overnight stays, as business dictates
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain product formulas, labels, and related documentation for manufacturing and customers
  • Create custom formulations, assign product codes, and prepare production-ready specifications
  • Enter and manage product data within ERP systems (e.g., material master, BOMs, recipes, costing)
  • Collaborate with internal teams (nutrition, manufacturing, QA, purchasing, and customer service) to ensure accurate formulation and product execution
  • Maintain formulation software, ingredient specifications, and system updates
  • Ensure compliance with labeling requirements, registrations, and applicable regulations
  • Support product lifecycle management, including updates, changes, and discontinuations
  • Provide technical product information and support to sales teams and customers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
