Feed Mill Operator (1st Shift) - Sleepy Eye, MN
About The Position
The Feed Mill Operator executes daily production and load-out goals according to established daily and weekly feed order levels. The role ensures proper use, upkeep, and maintenance of feed mill equipment, meets productivity goals, and cross-trains across mill manufacturing functions. It also emphasizes high standards of customer service and collaboration with other departments. The operator follows safety, equipment, housekeeping, and quality procedures; produces swine feed; performs quality assurance tests and adjusts the grinding process as needed; and loads trucks efficiently. The role also documents batching, grinding, load-out, and ingredient receiving, assists with warehouse operations and preventative maintenance, and manages feed/load-out scheduling and bin utilization. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements

- Entry-level experience; 0–1 year of prior job experience.

Responsibilities
- Follow proper safety, equipment, and housekeeping procedures.
- Support and engage in feed mill safety initiatives.
- Operate machines to produce swine feed according to established quality guidelines.
- Perform quality assurance tests and adjust the grinding process to achieve acceptable quality.
- Operate load-out equipment to load trucks efficiently.
- Perform and monitor documentation for batching, grinding, load-out, and ingredient receiving.
- Assist with warehouse operations as necessary.
- Follow defined guidelines to produce quality feed.
- Assist with routine preventative maintenance on feed mill equipment and maintain required documentation.
- Manage feed and load-out scheduling.
- Manage bin utilization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
