Part Time Feed Mill Lab Technician - Hedrick IA
About The Position
The part-time Feed Lab Technician supports JBS Live Pork’s nutrition team in formulating and delivering quality diets. The role assists the full-time lab technician with receiving, testing, and entering data for complete feed and ingredient samples submitted to the lab. Quick turnaround times and accurate data are important because lab results inform daily nutrition decisions. The position is hourly, averages 28 hours per week, and offers a flexible Monday–Friday schedule. Starting pay is $20.70 per hour. The role has no direct reports and reports to the Swine Nutritionist.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Basic knowledge of math.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to follow written procedures and established testing methods.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience in production-related work.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- A two- or four-year college degree in agriculture, the sciences, or a related field.
- Laboratory experience.

Responsibilities
- Conduct particle size, pellet durability, mycotoxin, and NIR tests on feed and ingredient samples.
- Enter data accurately and without errors, recognizing that the results inform real-time nutrition decisions.
- Assist full-time lab staff with feed and ingredient analysis to support smooth workflow and timely analysis and data entry.
- Maintain a clean and organized lab that meets or exceeds JBS Live Pork’s standards.
