About The Position

This position is responsible for performing tasks assigned by supervisor that are associated with the day to day operations of the feed mill. The role involves operating scales, unloading feed ingredients, routing them to storage silos, and performing quality analysis on incoming ingredients. The operator will also perform minor maintenance duties and ensure good housekeeping. Communication with operations, customers, and vendors is also a key part of the role. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year feed mill experience preferred
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Basic mechanical Skills
  • Basic computer skill
  • Ability to certify and maintain PIT Certification
  • Ability to certify as a Weigh Master
  • Ability to achieve and maintain respirator certification where applicable (ability be clean shaven)
  • Valid Class D License where applicable
  • 6 months clerical experience and/or feed mill experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT trucking procedures preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 months continuous experience in Industrial/Manufacturing/ Construction/ Landscaping/ Ranching environment.
  • 180 days wait period from last termination date.
  • 3X rule (candidates cannot have worked for Tyson 3X before).

Responsibilities

  • Operate scales and document incoming ingredients through the ticketing system.
  • Operate equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to appropriate storage silo.
  • Obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients.
  • Lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading of ingredients.
  • Perform minor maintenance duties using hand tools.
  • Work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
  • Maintain good housekeeping including service areas.
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required.
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
