About The Position

This position is responsible for performing tasks assigned by a supervisor that are associated with the day-to-day operations of a feed mill. Key duties include accurately recording data, operating scales, documenting incoming ingredients through a ticketing system, operating equipment to unload and route feed ingredients to storage silos, and performing quality analysis on incoming ingredients. The role also involves minor maintenance using hand tools, maintaining good housekeeping, and communicating with all levels of operations, customers, and vendors. Adherence to Tyson Health and Safety protocols and Company Biosecurity Guidelines, including avoiding avian species, is required. The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job in various weather conditions and dusty environments.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately record data
  • Ability to operate scales and document incoming ingredients through the ticketing system
  • Ability to operate equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to appropriate storage silo
  • Ability to obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients
  • Ability to lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading of ingredients
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance duties using hand tools
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures
  • Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
  • Ability to follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
  • Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day

  • Ability to certify and maintain PIT Certification
  • Ability to certify as a Weigh Master
  • Ability to achieve and maintain respirator certification where applicable (ability be clean shaven)
  • Valid Class D License where applicable
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 months continuous experience in Industrial/Manufacturing/ Construction/ Landscaping/ Ranching environment
  • 180 days wait period from last termination date
  • 3X rule (candidates cannot have worked for Tyson 3X before)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year feed mill experience preferred
  • 6 months clerical experience and/or feed mill experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT trucking procedures preferred
