About The Position

Academy of Art University is seeking a motivated Federal Work Study Videographer & Editor to join the Game Department. This role will support the Game Department Manager and Creative Media Intern in documenting the department's activities, including collaborative documentaries, faculty and student interviews, student game showcases, and event highlights. The position aims to provide students with hands-on experience in video production, enhancing their technical proficiency and aligning with their educational or vocational goals.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects.
  • Experiences with audio recording, camera operations and visual storytelling techniques.
  • Some knowledge of video production equipment and software.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills for handling large amounts of footage, ability to meet deadlines with Managers support.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Game Department Directors, Manager, and Creative Media Intern on desired projects and then assist in planning, shooting and editing professional videos to final showcase level.
  • Operate cameras, audio equipment and other video production tools.
  • Support with the maintenance and organization of video assets, including raw footage, project files and final deliverables.
  • Ensure all video content meets department brand standards, quality expectation and project deadlines before going for final review.
  • Stay current on social trends, video techniques for possible usage in department videos.
  • Collaborate with Creative Media Intern on any additional technical editing tasks such as project setup, timeline organization, and preparing files for handoff.
  • Take directions and implement feedback to meet project standards.
  • Review raw footage and create organized, trimmed selects to support video editing projects.
  • Support in editing both long-form and short-form content as needed.
  • Other special projects or department video tasks as assigned that will reinforce a Federal Work Study student’s educational program or vocational goals.
