About The Position

The Federal Work Study Student Worker position is for current Ocean County College students who are eligible for the Federal Work Study program. Students must have been approved by the Financial Aid office for FWS before starting their position. The Fall 2026 rate for the FWS Student Worker position is $16.50/hr. The majority of positions listed are close to 20 hours per week, although some may be 10 or 15 hours per week depending on the position. 20hrs/wk is the maximum hours allowed for a position. The job descriptions below are only indicative of the main duties for each position. Jobs may have additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be a current OCC student to be employed during the academic year
Must be approved by OCC's financial aid office for the Federal Work Study program.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with advance and day-of-event sales.
Use the CRM system to sell theater tickets, gift shop merchandise, update patron information, and share information with patrons.
Assist front-house operations such as ushering; school trips, large groups, and parties; and other tasks as needed.
Perform specialized duties that assure safe and efficient lab operations.
Ensure labs, storage areas and equipment are kept clean, orderly and functional.
Perform basic front office tasks, including greeting visitors to the office, answering phones, and checking mail.
Assist office staff with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance and accessibility.
Help with tasks relating to the Office of Disability Services’ social media accounts and website.
Set up and attend campus events.
