About The Position

The Federal Project Manager will join the Motorola Solutions Federal Division, directly supporting Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. This role offers flexible remote work from anywhere within the United States with proximity to a major airport, requiring 50% or more domestic travel. Oversees the deployment and implementation of Motorola Solutions products and service offerings. Leads cross-functional teams dedicated to launching new solutions or upgrading existing systems. Directs the entire project lifecycle from initiation through completion or handoff, monitoring performance metrics throughout. Guarantees delivery within established timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards. Formulates and executes comprehensive project plans encompassing contractual requirements, including design reviews, timelines, system configuration, installation, training, and testing. Oversees subcontractor operations by drafting detailed statements of work, negotiating purchase order outcomes, organizing installation schedules, and ensuring full compliance with project specifications. Manages, tracks, and projects financial elements, including budget allocations and revenue goals. Monitors and maintains control over equipment inventory. Drafts technical proposals, change orders, and bids for system integration initiatives as required. Engages in project reviews and status meetings, ensuring clear communication of progress to stakeholders. Prepares comprehensive documentation for both internal reviews and external customer updates. Applies established project management frameworks to maximize operational efficiency. Inspires and guides project team members to drive high performance. Supports the creation of strategic plans and business approaches to capitalize on new opportunities. Consistently secures favorable customer satisfaction ratings upon contract completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR 5+ years of experience in one of the following: LMR, Engineering, Project Management, Technical Services, Government, Military or Public Safety.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts.
  • Must reside in the contiguous United States with convenient access to a major airport.
  • Prepared to travel across the continental U.S. at least 50% of the time.
  • Capable of securing and maintaining a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Public Trust Clearance.
  • Eligible to satisfy all background screening criteria mandated by government clients.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in deploying IT communication systems.
  • Prior experience administering and delivering government and public sector contracts.
  • Background in technical positions such as Project Lead, Engineer, or Senior Technician is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced project management disciplines, including risk mitigation, financial oversight, project planning, team leadership, dispute resolution, and stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, strategic planning, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Skilled in preparing thorough progress reports and delivering executive-level presentations to clients.
  • Hands-on expertise in developing Statements of Work (SOWs) and directing vendor and subcontractor performance.
  • A history of accurately predicting financial outcomes and achieving key revenue targets.
  • Adept at leading complex initiatives in a remote environment.
