Federal Project Manager
About The Position
OEI (O’Brien Engineering & Architecture) is seeking a full-time Project Manager with experience managing military and/or federal projects. We are looking for someone who has served as an architectural or engineering designer and has recent architecture and engineering design project management experience on a wide variety of federal projects. Our company enjoys a healthy variety of federal projects/task orders so the successful candidate will show ability to manage multiple task orders in multiple states for multiple clients simultaneously, while delivering results according to the contract terms - on time, within budget, documented accurately, and to the clients' overall satisfaction.
Requirements
- Demonstrated desire to learn, grow, and contribute to challenging and rewarding projects.
- Strong interest in mentoring and leading less experienced team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent time management abilities.
- Design management experience.
- Department of Defense (DOD) project management experience.
- Registered Architect (RA/AIA) or Professional Engineer (PE, Mechanical or Electrical), or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
Nice To Haves
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience leading projects for the military or other federal agencies (e.g., the Department of Veterans Affairs) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage multidisciplinary project requirements, design schedules, and budgets.
- Assist in defining and developing project scope.
- Conduct client meetings and site visits.
- Estimate labor hours, calculate direct costs, and establish competitive project fees.
- Monitor budgets, track schedules, and measure quality benchmarks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key regional stakeholders to expand OEI's client base and secure repeat business.
- Identify deviations from established project scope, schedule, or budget and implement timely corrective actions.
- Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements and client expectations.
