The Federal College Work Study-Community Service position is with Serving Children and Adults in Need (SCAN), Inc. Youth Recovery Homes, which provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment for male adolescents ages 13 to 17 working toward recovery and personal growth. The program utilizes counseling, educational support, and experiential activities to help youth address substance use, impulsivity, aggression, and behaviors connected to traumatic experiences. The Community Work-Study Program offers federal financial aid eligible students part-time employment opportunities at nonprofit organizations that serve the public interest. This program aims to develop interest in public service, apply coursework to real-world problems, enhance career competencies, and help students articulate how their experiences will shape their future pursuits.
