About The Position

Morgan & Morgan's Mass Tort Law & Briefing Group is at the center of significant plaintiff-side litigation, handling class actions and multidistrict litigation nationwide. This group deals with high-profile cases such as pharmaceutical litigation, environmental pollution cases, hair relaxer litigation linked to cancer diagnoses, and processed food cases that explore the intersection of science, regulation, and consumer protection. The work is consequential and receives media coverage.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the New York City area — this is a fully in-office role.
  • Candidates must take the bar prior to start date.
  • Submit at least two legal writing samples that demonstrate research depth and analytical rigor — no page or word limit; show us your best work.
  • Moot court, externship, fellowship, or clinic experience demonstrating actual drafting preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Moot court experience is a meaningful differentiator.
  • Demonstrated drafting experience through internships, externships, or clinic work.
  • Law Review or other research-intensive academic work.
  • Federal clerkship experience or state-level appellate clerkship experience is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting motions, briefs, and appeals across active federal and state class action and MDL dockets (and state-law equivalents to MDL practice).
  • Deep-dive legal research requiring genuine intellectual rigor.
  • Analyzing complex procedural and substantive federal issues across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.
  • Collaborating closely with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and argument development.
  • Contributing to a practice group that is growing and setting precedent.
