About The Position

As a member of the Simulation Group, the FEA Simulation Engineer will be responsible for preparing, executing, and analyzing finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to support engineering development and business decision-making. This role collaborates closely with engineering teams to validate designs, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement through simulation and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, including: Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials
  • Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar engineering tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Dassault Systems Abaqus and CATIA.
  • Knowledge of finite element modeling, meshing techniques, and simulation best practices.
  • Understanding of internal combustion engines, hybrid, and electric powertrain systems.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE), optimization methodologies, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of controls systems and their application within powertrain development.
  • Experience correlating simulation results with physical test data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, set up, and execute FEA simulations using company-standard tools and processes.
  • Support structural, thermal, and system-level analyses to evaluate component and system performance.
  • Interpret simulation results and identify key findings, trends, and recommendations.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and technical summaries for engineering and management teams.
  • Develop scripts, macros, and automated workflows to improve simulation efficiency, repeatability, and data management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the simulation environment.
  • Work closely with design, test, and development engineers to define simulation requirements and validate results.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support product development and problem-solving efforts.
  • Develop an understanding of testing methodologies, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems used to validate simulation models.
  • Support simulation-to-test correlation activities to improve model accuracy and confidence.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations for project reviews, design evaluations, and engineering discussions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
