About The Position

This position involves visiting 1-2 designated farmers markets weekly to collect farmers market price data directly from vendors in those markets. The price reporter will record price data by product, unit sold and certification. The goal is to provide information to crop and livestock producers who are interested in selling direct to consumers in Colorado. Price data will be remitted to Colorado State University Extension after collection so it can be uploaded in summary form. Mileage incurred using a personal vehicle is reimbursable. This position requires attention to detail, reliability and own transportation.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; OEE will not sponsor a visa for this position.
  • Available June-September on a weekly basis (many markets take place on weekends)
  • Strong verbal communications skills and ability to interact with market managers and farmers market vendors.
  • Experience using spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Google sheets, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Travel to a designated farmers market on a weekly basis to collect data.
  • Record pricing data for fruits, vegetables, meats and eggs while at the market.
  • Submit data in electronic format to supervisor 1-2 days following the collection date.
  • Be available to provide clarifications or corrections to data submitted.
  • Follow data collection procedures consistently and communicate any anomalies to supervisor.
