About The Position

The City of Bloomington is seeking an individual to assist with the operation of the weekly Saturday Bloomington Farmers Market and select special events. This role involves setting up, operating, and taking down markets, promoting programs, and maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for visitors. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, and the capacity to lift and set up market equipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, punctual, and dependable, representing the City of Bloomington professionally.

Requirements

• High quality communication skills and ability to interact effectively with the public.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including primarily weekends.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Ability to lift and assist with setup of tables, canopies, and other Farmers Market related items.
• Attention to detail, punctual, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Work with Farmers Market Coordinator and staff to set up, operate, and take down weekly Saturday Farmers Markets, Midweek Music and Market events, and Winter Indoor Markets.
• Promote programs at the Bloomington Farmers Market.
• Maintain a positive and fun attitude in welcoming visitors to programs and delivering program information.
• Assist with other Special Events as needed.
• Represent the City of Bloomington in a positive and professional manner at all times.
