About The Position
This position involves performing the daily duties of a large farm operation. This includes the production of row crops, vegetable crops, dairy cattle operation, beef cattle operation, maintenance of buildings, grounds, and roadways. The role also entails the operation and maintenance of all farm equipment, utilizing an inmate workforce. The Farm Supervisor will provide training, supervision, and evaluation to the inmate workforce while they perform all farm tasks.
Requirements
- Knowledge of row and vegetable crops, greenhouse and orchard crops from planting stage to market.
- General knowledge of maintenance and operation of farm equipment, cattle production, building construction and land management.
- Demonstrated ability to operate farm equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise.
- Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to keep accurate records.
- Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems.
- A valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Agricultural, construction or equipment experience.
- Possession of Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Pesticide Application Permit or the ability to obtain them.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
