About The Position

The Farm Hand is responsible for maintaining all property/fields under Company control. This role involves performing repairs on perimeter fencing, reporting fence and field conditions, and managing grass cutting and removal. The Farm Hand will also operate and maintain the plant irrigation system, including the Center Pivot Irrigation System, and be responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and inspections of all company farm equipment and vehicles.

Requirements

• Prior experience in farming, cultivation, and harvesting of hay.
• Experience with hand tools and farming equipment required.
• Good working knowledge of minor maintenance of equipment.

• High School diploma preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task.
• Good math skills; multiplication and division of whole numbers.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on perimeter fencing as necessary.
• Report fence and field conditions to General Manager.
• Responsible for grass cutting and removal from all other areas.
• Operate the Plant Irrigation system at the direction of the General Manager.
• Maintain the Center Pivot Irrigation System according to manufacturer's standards or as Company policy dictates.
• Responsible for all company farm equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles used.
• All other duties as assigned.
