About The Position

The Farm Hand is responsible for maintaining all property/fields under Company control. This includes performing repairs on perimeter fencing, reporting fence and field conditions, and responsible for grass cutting and removal from all other areas. The role also involves operating and maintaining the plant and center pivot irrigation systems, as well as all company farm equipment, including preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.

Requirements

• Prior experience in farming, cultivation, and harvesting of hay.
• Experience with hand tools and farming equipment required.
• Good working knowledge of minor maintenance of equipment.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task.
• Good math skills; multiplication and division of whole numbers.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on perimeter fencing as necessary.
• Report fence and field conditions to General Manager.
• Responsible for grass cutting and removal from all other areas.
• Operate the Plant Irrigation system at the direction of the General Manager.
• Maintain the Center Pivot Irrigation System according to manufacturer's standards or as Company policy dictates.
• Responsible for all company farm equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles used.
• All other duties as assigned.
