Family Visitation Specialist
About The Position
Make a Difference in a Child’s Life – Become a Parent-Child Visitation Specialist! Looking for a rewarding role where every trip counts? As a Youth Transport & Visitation Specialist, you'll ensure the safety and well-being of children during transport and family visits. Be the trusted support that helps children reconnect safely with loved ones—and make each ride matter. This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However, other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization. Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year of experience in youth care or human services
- Valid driver's license with good driving record and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Registration check
- Ability to drive for extended periods and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job required.
- Meet auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or State and Local laws required.
- Ability to lift children or car seats up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to safely transport youth in all weather conditions
- Comfortable entering varied home environments and managing challenging behaviors
- Must have sufficient ability to see, hear, speak, and mobility to monitor youth.
Responsibilities
- Safely transporting youth to and from family visits
- Supervising visits to ensure safe, appropriate interactions
- Guiding parents with constructive engagement and redirection
- Documenting visits and reporting behaviors or safety concerns
- Building trust with families to support positive outcomes
