About The Position

Children & Families of Iowa is hiring a Family Support Worker to help children and families experiencing trauma or other life challenges work toward stability and healing. The worker provides guidance, transportation, crisis support, and supervised family interactions while collaborating with parents, children, foster families, and other professionals. The position supports the organization’s mission to restore hope, build futures, and change lives by helping families stay connected and move toward healthier futures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in human services working with children and/or dependent adults.
• Ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable internet access or ability to work from an office location.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Auto insurance with liability coverage and a safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree with at least six months of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
• Candidates with diverse backgrounds and multilingual abilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for families and children as needed.
• Facilitate and supervise family interactions.
• Provide crisis intervention and support services.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings between families and FCS team members.
• Complete accurate and timely case documentation.
• Collaborate with a team dedicated to supporting and strengthening families.
