About The Position

Children & Families of Iowa is hiring a Family Support Worker to help children and families navigate difficult circumstances and work toward stability and healing. The role supports families experiencing trauma or life challenges through guidance, transportation, crisis support, and supervised family interactions. The worker collaborates with parents, children, foster families, and other professionals to help keep families safe, supported, and connected. The position requires accurate case documentation, coordination with the Family and Community Services (FCS) team, and the ability to work independently and respond to emergencies. The listed salary is $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in human services working with children and/or dependent adults.
• Ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable internet access or the ability to work from an office location.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Auto insurance with liability coverage and a safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree with at least six months of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
• Diverse backgrounds and multilingual abilities are strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for families and children as needed.
• Facilitate and supervise family interactions.
• Provide crisis intervention and support services.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings between families and FCS team members.
• Complete accurate and timely case documentation.
• Collaborate with a team dedicated to supporting and strengthening families.
