Under the direction of Urban Family Services Management and the daily supervision of the Urban Family Services Supervisor, the Family Support Worker provides intensive in-home support services to families involved with or at risk of involvement in the child welfare system. The Family Support Worker develops and implements individualized family support plans to strengthen parenting capacity and family functioning. Services include assessing family needs, providing intervention and case management, facilitating access to community resources, and offering guidance, advocacy, problem-solving, and referrals. The position supports families experiencing challenges related to poverty, addictions, family violence, abuse, and other barriers associated with urban living, with the goal of promoting child safety, family stability, and overall well-being.
