About The Position

This position will be based at the Rockledge care center. The Family Allies Family Support Worker position serves as a paraprofessional support to Dependency Care Managers, with primary focus on coordinating and supervising Family Time with families involved with the Dependency Child Welfare System of Care. Family Support Workers will be responsible for maintaining records, program referrals, accompanying/transporting children and parents to therapeutic services, other providers, and supervising Family Time. The Family Support Worker will develop and maintain client records and program documentation based on first hand observations and assessments.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Suites and SACWIS system
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in child welfare or human services
  • Strong knowledge about dependency case management, supervised family time and child welfare system of care

Responsibilities

  • Complete required training, including Wrap-Around Training.
  • Facilitate and provide supervision for families during Family Time activities, acting decisively to protect clients and model appropriate boundaries.
  • Adhere to and monitor Family Time Guidelines to achieve permanency for children.
  • Prepare and submit all required documentation within the required timeframes, make recommendations, and testify at court hearings.
  • Ensure documentation occurs within the SACWIS system and other related systems within required timeframes.
  • Complete professional, timely program case documentation and reporting, including tracking client progress and outcomes.
  • Adhere to local System of Care values, goals, and priorities for Brevard’s children, youth, and families.
  • Utilize a family-centered, strength-based approach to care.
  • Monitor quality of care by ensuring appropriate visitation plans are in place.
  • Provide support to staff, children, caregivers, and family members to ensure timely achievement of permanency.
  • Coordinate cases with team members, providers, DCF, and attorneys as needed.
  • Review case information prior to every hearing to be prepared to answer court questions.
  • Dress appropriately for court appearances and attend all court hearings timely.
  • Fulfill other incidental or related duties as assigned, assist and train others, and perform duties of higher-rated positions for developmental purposes.
