The Family Support Specialist position works in tandem with Protective Services case work staff to provide support and assistance in various locations including the office, the field and placement settings. Working closely with staff who are responsible for assessing allegations of abuse/neglect/dependency within families, the Family Support Specialist may complete documentation for home visits, provide transportation of children or monitoring of parenting time, and make referrals to service providers/law enforcement. Additional duties may include administering drug tests, compiling social/ medical history, completing written work products and maintaining case record documentation. The successful Family Support Specialist will be proficient with both written and oral communication skills, able to prioritize and organize activities independently and a be consummate team player ready to pitch in to serve families and children at the highest standards of customer service excellence.
