As the Family Support Specialist, you would provide services to enable individuals and families to obtain access to needed medical, social, educational, and other support services as needed. The FSS function can be generally described as advocating, linking & coordinating needed community-based services for the client(s) and families served. The FSS provides a wide array of educational, role modeling, parenting, problem solving, and individual, group and family services using the Omni Core Strength’s approach. This position will be a part of the FITT program (Family Intervention Treatment Team), which is an intensive, in-home program for youth and families. The Family Support Specialist is responsible for serving families with crisis diversion with skill building within the community and family home. Collaboration with team members, and on-call availability for crisis assistance and intervention is also required. The Family Support Specialist works closely with the assigned to provide needed assistance to children and families in their areas of expertise and reports to the FITT Director.
