About The Position

Family Based Recovery (FBR) provides intensive, in-home clinical treatment for families with infants or young children (birth to age 6) who are at risk for abuse and/or neglect, poor developmental outcomes and removal from their home due to parental substance use. The overarching goal of the intervention is to promote stability, safety and permanence for these families. Treatment and support services are provided in a context that is family-focused, strength-based, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and responsive to the individual needs of each child and family. The clinical team provides intensive psychotherapy and substance use treatment for the parent(s) and attachment-based parent-child therapy to the parent-child dyad. As a Family Support Specialist, you will provide high quality, client-centered services to children and their families. You will demonstrate competency in topics of child development, substance use, and provide trauma sensitive and culturally competent care. This role involves delivering case management, education, referral, and crisis support as indicated. You will collaborate with other providers to support the needs of the client/family and work in close collaboration with program or agency staff in the event of a clinical crisis. Additionally, you will assist families in connecting to community and natural supports, participate in treatment and discharge planning, and complete all program and agency required documentation. You will document all client and collateral contacts in the client record and support families in ensuring that youth/families connect and engage in the most appropriate level of care.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human services required.
Valid driver’s license.
Will attend all required program trainings.

Nice To Haves

At least two (2) years experience in a mental health setting preferred.
For identified positions, bilingual capacity may be required.
