About The Position

Koinonia Family Services is seeking a part-time Family Specialist to join their post-adoption wraparound program, supporting families in the Temecula area. This role focuses on assisting families who have adopted children/youth out of the foster care system and are facing challenges with the child’s/youth’s behavioral and mental health. The Family Specialist will work directly with youth and families in their homes and communities to model positive behavior, implement targeted behavioral interventions, and enhance stability, safety, and well-being. This position offers a chance to support youth who have experienced trauma and provides opportunities for professional development alongside a committed team of professionals utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a behavioral science-related field or substantial coursework completed toward an AA degree
  • One year of experience working with high-risk youth (preferred)
  • Completion of a criminal background clearance through the California Department of Justice and FBI
  • Pre-employment physical and TB test
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Auto insurance
  • Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with youth and families in their home and community to develop positive relationships and implement the plan of care
  • Model positive behavior and implement targeted behavioral interventions to promote stabilization in the home and community
  • Provide skill-building interventions for the youth and family to improve their behavioral outcomes
  • Participate in a family-centered, strength-based, culturally sensitive planning process for creating individualized plans of care
  • Support youth to participate effectively in child and family team (CFT) meetings
  • Implement strengths-based behavior plans with individualized strategies that include supportive linkage to the community and school
  • Maintain case files for assigned youth and families
  • Transport youth to appointments and community resources
