About The Position

The Family Skills Coach supports children and families by providing practical skill-building, education, and resource coordination to promote family stability, strengthen protective factors, and support reunification or preservation of the family unit. As an integral member of the treatment team, this role delivers hands-on instruction in areas such as parenting, recovery support, and daily living skills while collaborating on service planning and progress toward case goals. The Family Skills Coach also maintains consistent communication with referral partners, connects families to community resources, and ensures accurate documentation, all while contributing to a coordinated, strengths-based approach to care.

Requirements

  • A Christian with strong convictions who is also in agreement with Josiah White’s mission statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions limiting the ability to perform job functions and proof of vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction to families in parenting, budgeting, recovery support, household management, conflict resolution, and other essential life skills.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to assess needs and contribute to the development and implementation of service plans.
  • Complete timely, accurate case records including progress notes, reports, safety plans, and service documentation.
  • Connect families to community services and supports, including assisting with transportation or facilitating access to needed resources.
  • Teach and model skills, and provide ongoing guidance in areas such as conflict resolution, child development, and building healthy family dynamics.
  • Communicate regularly with placing agencies and serve as a liaison to support collaboration and continuity of care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, field observations, training, and performance feedback processes to enhance service delivery and effectiveness.
