About The Position

The Family Services Specialist III position is primarily based in an office, with commercial bus-driving duties for Mobile Offices as needed. Mobile Office buses respond to natural disasters and support occasional special events statewide. The role serves clients in an OKDHS retail space and on the bus, assessing needs and determining eligibility for Adult and Family Services programs, including SNAP. The specialist interviews clients, manages a caseload, documents eligibility decisions, makes referrals to community resources, participates in conferences, and attends mandatory training. The position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with occasional travel. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Annual salary is $44,272.80, plus full state employee benefits.

Requirements

Must possess a commercial driver’s license.
Must maintain required car insurance.

Nice To Haves

A master’s degree.
A bachelor’s degree and one year of professional social work experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional social work experience for each year of a bachelor’s degree.
Three years of experience as a Family Services Specialist.

Responsibilities

Greet clients professionally and kindly in an OKDHS retail space and on the bus.
Assess individuals’ needs and determine eligibility for Adult and Family Services programs, including SNAP.
Interview clients in an office setting or by phone.
Manage a caseload.
Compile data and complete documentation to determine eligibility for social services.
Make appropriate referrals to community resources.
Participate in individual and staff conferences.
Attend all mandatory training associated with the position.
Drive Mobile Office buses as needed, including responses to natural disasters and occasional statewide special events.
