This is a full-time position based in Mission, working with the FS 0-1213-19 yrs Old Team. The role involves providing culturally appropriate and responsive community-based services within the parameters of the BC Child, Family and Community Services Act and the Aboriginal Operational and Practice Standards and Indicators (AOPSI). The social worker will support communities in developing preventative programming to protect and support children, acting as the first point of contact for child protection reports. They will collaborate with families, community members, Band Designates, Elders, and other supports in case planning and service delivery, covering Family Development Response, Protective and Voluntary Family Service, and Guardianship. The position requires knowledge of Community Protocols and participation in community events and ceremonies. Xyólheméylh emphasizes cultural embedding through its Elders Advisory Council.
