About The Position

The Family Service Coordinator/Manager is responsible for monitoring ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance) and Health practices and coordinating family services including the promotion of family wellness, building community partnerships and operating as a liaison between programs, classrooms and home settings in the areas of family engagement, child development and mental health services. This role involves performing functions with a strong understanding of the Head Start Program Performance Standards, local, state, and federal guidelines. The manager will supervise and support family service staff, develop reporting systems for ERSEA, family goal setting, and services provided, and monitor compliance using electronic data management systems. They will also establish and maintain communication with parents to ensure opportunities for active program involvement and participation, as well as crisis intervention. Participation in team management functions of planning, implementing, and evaluation of the program, and assisting in facilitating the election process of the program's Governing body are also key responsibilities. Other duties as required may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience working in Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Coursework in principles of social work, child development, counseling, and/or psychology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multi-task.
  • Willingness and skills to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner.
  • Ability to support families that predominantly speak Spanish or Bengali, and potentially others depending on client needs.
