About The Position

Northwest Center Early Supports is hiring for a Family Resources Coordinator (FRC)! As a Family Resource Coordinator, you will play an integral role in helping children (aged 0-3) with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) access the therapeutic services they need. You will work with a dynamic team and assist them by scheduling home visits with new clients and ensuring a smooth transition into Northwest Center’s care. You will be providing a meaningful impact on your community by connecting children and families with Early Support services. About Northwest Center Kids: Northwest Center Kids Early Supports is a unique program at the intersection of educational support and medical support for children with disabilities. Our multidisciplinary team is highly skilled, collaborative, and innovative, serving a diverse community. We serve children in their homes, childcare, and community settings in person or via telemedicine. Our providers aim to create a collaborative partnership with the families we serve, utilizing strengths and a relationship-based approach focused on equity and family priorities. Family capacity to support their child’s development and advocate for their needs is built through reflection, information sharing, and modeling. This position falls under a collective bargaining agreement with the UFCW 3000 union.

Requirements

  • AA Required, BA Preferred
  • Prior experience working within different data systems preferred
  • Experience working as a Family Resource Coordinator preferred
  • Early Supports or working a caseload, including clients aged birth to three, experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to include, but are not limited to, a positive attitude, strong listening skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant education or experience in case management, social work, social welfare, family studies, infant mental health, early childhood development, or special education
  • Must have or obtain current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Valid WA driver's license and personal mode of transportation
  • Candidates with experience providing services in a non-English language experience desired

Responsibilities

  • Using coaching strategies to support caregivers and coworkers
  • Developing supportive relationships with children, parents, and other family members
  • Conducting visits within the child’s natural environment (home, community childcare, NWC childcare, and other community-based settings)
  • Keeping the team up to date with community resources
  • Receiving referrals and organizing visits with each family
  • Preparing, scheduling, and leading Intake meetings and Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings every six months
  • Working from residential homes and childcare facilities throughout the Greater Seattle area
