Family Resource Navigator- Crisis Nursery
About The Position
The Center for Youth partners with youth to help them realize their full potential by creating opportunities, removing barriers, and promoting social justice. Its Crisis Nursery and Owen House provide free, temporary, professional care for children from birth to age 14 when caregivers face a crisis such as an accident, sudden illness, or housing emergency. The Crisis Nursery Family Resource Navigator provides supportive case management to families using the program. The Navigator assesses the needs of families seeking case management and helps clients access community resources through referrals. The schedule is full-time and includes day and evening hours. The role may require transporting program participants.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree in Human Services or a related field and one year of related experience, or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A telephone.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of case management techniques and interventions.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Knowledge of risk reduction and protective factors.
- Knowledge of family service systems.
- Strong literacy and communication skills.
- Strong time-management and multitasking skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Advanced knowledge of Internet Explorer.
- Offers may be contingent on a background check and a driving record and automobile insurance that meet the agency insurance carrier’s requirements.

Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention and response.
- Conduct outreach, screening, intake, and assessment.
- Coordinate, develop, implement, and continually assess families’ case management needs, services, and plans.
- Assess referral readiness and provide information and referral facilitation.
- Transport program participants as required.
- Provide case management.
