About The Position

The Milford Public Schools Family Resource Center, located at Pumpkin Delight Elementary School, is seeking a dedicated Full Time Support Staff Member to join our team. The Family Resource Center provides comprehensive services designed to strengthen families, promote healthy child development, and support school readiness. Services include: Parenting education, Playgroups for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, Home visiting, Lending library services, Positive youth development programming, Adult education, Resource and referral services, Family workshops and community events, Support for children and families transitioning into the school setting, Maintenance of Family Resource Center communication platforms and outreach materials. Under the direction of the Family Resource Center Coordinator and the Instructional Supervisor of Early Childhood Education, the successful candidate will support the implementation of Family Resource Center grant requirements, assist with family engagement initiatives, maintain accurate program documentation, complete required grant reports, and collaborate regularly with program leadership to analyze programmatic needs and identify opportunities for continuous program improvement.

Requirements

  • Hold or working towards a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Have two or more years of experience in early childhood education, family engagement, community programming, or public administration.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the developmental needs of young children, including their academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Display a caring, welcoming, and supportive demeanor when interacting with young children and their families.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with district leadership, school personnel, families, and community partners in support of the Milford Public Schools Vision of the Learner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with technology, including Google Workspace and other digital communication platforms.
  • Maintain confidentiality while demonstrating consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.
  • Have successful experience working with children, youth, and adults from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Complete grant-required reports, documentation, and data collection accurately and within established timelines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while contributing positively as a collaborative member of the Family Resource Center team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating Family Resource Center programming.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and families.
  • Coordinate family workshops, parenting education opportunities, and community events.
  • Assist families in accessing community resources and support services.
  • Participate in home visiting and family outreach activities, as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records, grant documentation, and required reports.
  • Support communication with families through newsletters, social media, websites, and other communication platforms.
  • Collaborate with school personnel and community agencies to strengthen family engagement and support services.
  • Participate in program planning meetings and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with maintaining lending library resources and Family Resource Center materials.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Family Resource Center Coordinator or the Instructional Supervisor of Early Childhood Education.
