About The Position

JusticeWorks YouthCare is seeking a Family Research and Outreach Coordinator in Erie County, PA, to make a difference for children and families in the community. The role involves discovering, identifying, locating, and tracking relatives, kin, or significant individuals for referred children or families. The coordinator will engage these individuals using a strength-based approach to develop a supportive network. This includes making arrangements for and facilitating alignment and decision-making meetings. The position requires researching genealogical information to identify and engage kin/family members who can support children in out-of-home placement. Requirements

High school diploma required
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a vehicle
Ability to pass all required clearances
Ability to pass pre-employment and post-offer drug and alcohol screening
Availability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends required.

Responsibilities

Discover, identify, locate and track relatives, kin or significant individuals for the referred child’s or family’s life.
Engage the identified relatives, kin or significant individuals using a strength-based approach in order to develop a supportive network of connections for the youth or family.
Make all necessary arrangements and follow procedures for alignment and decision-making meetings (Issue invitations and communicate all relevant details about the alignment or decision-making meeting to each participant).
Research genealogical information to identify and actively engage kin/ family members who may be willing to offer supports to children in out of home placement.
